Pantry + Fridge Cabinet

Though a walk-in closet would have been a dream, a slim pantry cabinet was much more realistic. It includes, from top to bottom, a pantry, fridge, and drawer:

The fridge is of the drawer style to facilitate access to its content without having to crouch and contort in the narrow aisle.

Unfortunately, there are not many mini drawer fridge models out there. And the space available in the cabinet is very small. So I had to buy the outrageously expensive $1600 'Indel Webasto Isotherm Drawer 65 - 12v Fridge & Freezer - 2.30Cu.Ft (65 Liters) - 70lbs - HWD 20.9x18.5x21 inches' model 😡

Word to the aspiring van builder: select an affordable drawer fridge before finalizing the cabinet volumes. Oh well, live and learn... 😅

The build started with creating templates to fit snuggly in the wall's recessed framed area. That deeper space conveniently provides additional cooling volume for the fridge's evaporator, and space for small shelves at the back of the pantry.

Pocket screws were used for the assembly, and a 1/4" channel was routed with a slot cutter to hide the 12V wire for the interior cabinet lights:

Cutouts were then made to save weight:

To hold the fridge in place and facilitate installation / removal, an insulated cradle was built:

Hon hon hon, not too shabby so far ! Can't wait for the beer & ice cream to be cold enough 😆
