Electrical Panel

This thing is a beauty, ain't it ? 😍

Well, maybe not so much... But 'C'est peut-être un détail pour vous, mais pour moi ça veut dire beaucoup' (*) 😂

Facing a tight space for all the electrical components, and a complex maze of cable feeds, the mockup above was iterated on. It had to match the starting location of the cables that had been pulled in the van, and mirror the block diagram previously shown in the Planning the Electrical & Energy System post:

Once a suitable layout was found, it was time to move on to the real thing. Rivet nuts were inserted around the window cavity, Thinsulate insulation was glued down, and the backerboard was bolted on. The components were then transferred from the mockup:

To provide adequate ventilation for the electronics, a dozen ~2.5" holes were drilled into the bottom board. That board will close the space at the bottom once enclosed in the dining room's bench structure. Note the fine metal mesh wrapped around it to prevent critters from visiting the electrical panel's space.

Side walls were then added:

And here it is. A whole electrical setup that is logically laid out, easy to access, and tucked away in the unused space behind the bench's backrest, thus freeing up valuable storage volume elsewhere.
[insert final pic including fire protection, etc]
Now, THAT is a real beauty 😘
