Ever had a case of needing something from the garage and ending up having to pile dive to find it ?
Yeah, me neither... 😅
That was not going to happen with this van while stranded at night on the side of the road, rain pouring, cargo doors open, looking for "Where the heck did I last stash the flashlight ?" and throwing things out onto the muddy roadside...
So, the garage space had to be organized a bit. The sliding floor trays greatly facilitate accessing things for sure. But, in addition, hanging milk crates (24 Quart heavy duty 19"x13"x11") will also help keep things tidy and logically organized:
They simply rest on C aluminum channels screwed to the underside of the bench.
L shaped aluminum rails were riveted along the crates' top edges, allowing to slide them in and out:
Bonus, a crate that contains all the picnic cooking gear, or beach toys, or wet stuff, can now be easily taken out and carried to the picnic spot, beach or laundromat without having to dig / pack / unpack anymore.
And, cherry on the macaron, their content is also accessible from inside the van by just opening the access panels built into the bench top. No more going outside and opening the cargo doors when it is freezing and muddy !
